Moving

Headed to Corpus Christi!   Here are some pictures we took while visiting our future hometown.

The Delta luggage guys had a little trouble, and this gave us a little delay.

Some people would have you believe that Texas is all "brown" and "dry."  Not true in early July.

Second night in Texas, La Playa Restaurant.  They have live Mariachi on Friday nights.

On Saturday we secured a place to live.  On Sunday, we hit the beach.
You can camp on the beach!
We practically had the beach to ourselves.  Look both ways:

See the crab?

A park downtown.

This is a fishing pier / park with places to wash & cut your fish.
From the top, you can see huge jellyfish floating in the water.  Oh no!
On our last night, we went to San Antonio to be tourists at the River Walk and the Alamo. Wow, it's way hotter in San Antonio!!!  The Embassy Suites on the RivewWalk was excellent.

The Alamo.

Dining at Rio, Rio.
Kind of reminds us of Key West... birds roaming the outdoor restaurants.
And, sweating hot weather.

Just A Sunday Drive...

We took advantage of some great weather this weekend!  Some local pictures to share:

Rondout Reservoir, Grahamsville NY

Covered Bridge, Grahamsville NY

Covered Bridge, near Claryville NY
(located on private property)
We stopped at the Blue Hill Lodge in Claryville.  What a great place!  I hear that the food is pretty good.  The store featured really great choices of specialty imported cookies and candies.  Ron said the bathroom is the cleanest he's ever seen!  http://www.bluehillcafelodge.com/index.php
Ron made a friend while we enjoyed our cold drinks outside:

The following pictures are of Port Jervis and the Delaware River, Rt. 97.
I didn't keep good track of the exact locations, as we were on the bike.

Then home via Rt. 52 overlooking Ellenville.  Click to enlarge these pics.
Look at the hang gliders!  They were everywhere!

One Last Trip To Maine Before We Move!

Stay tuned... I'm a little behind on my posts!

Rip Van Winkle Campground

A great find in Saugerties NY.  This campground is very well maintained and run by a great family!  We will happily go again, if there is time.

Loving the creekside campsite!

Waking up to the sound of the water. Almost like our old campsite....

Our friends told us to head to the Smokehouse of the Catskills.  What a heavenly place!!!
We walked out with fresh German pretzels and Landjaegers...with mustard...and beer.
YUM.

Venison marinated in wine with jalapeno & asparagus.
Even though the stream looks inviting and we've had many hot days, the water was ICE COLD.
It was one of those experiences where the water was so cold it hurt!

These were a fast moving group but we caught some pictures of merganser ducks!
The action shot is in the middle.  (Hopefully you can see them with a double click to enlarge.)
